Watching some of the many nature programs on television these days that idolatrously exalt non-sentient “mother nature” as the source cause of behavior programming in things that live on earth, I have come to appreciate and glorify the living God as a faithful Christian all the more for “His handiwork” in all of His creation (Psalm 19:1, NKJV)! That handiwork includes His programming right down into the DNA of most living things on earth. God’s will expressed from the beginning is that every living thing reproduce itself (Genesis 1:11-13, 20-31). It is so. God also programmed His reproducing creatures to act instinctively out of observable and definable roles and responsibilities.
So, for example, science has observed that certain penguins mate for life with the male and female each carrying out their separate duties while both go to get food for their offspring. How did the penguin parents know to do this and who told them they had to? Nobody; it is programmed in their genetic make up to provide food for their offspring! Human beings also have parental instincts programmed in us by God, but the difference between us and the animals is we have been given the freewill to override His genetic programming in sin and willfully rebel against His express commandments and instructions to our detriment as write I in this edited 2011 Commentary.

Who said it is the man and husband of the family that is responsible to provide for them? God, the Creator of man has modeled and taught so in His Word! But now, near the end of this world as we know it, many are rebelling against the instructions of God for the order of the family including a rising number of professed Christians. They treat the Bible as dated, but the declarations of worldly government officials and science worshipping professionals as sacred. They are more concerned about the world's approval than God's. As a result, their homes are as confused as those of the ungodly. Meanwhile, the wrath of the Bible's God looms on the horizon to destroy our nation and world.
In my book, The Strong Man Of God: Back To Basics,1 I am led of the Lord to address the 21st century confusion on male and female roles and their responsibilities in the family. It is not a pretty picture and statistics in the book bear this out. In arrogance, sinful humanity moved by various motivations, but primarily secular humanism, feminism and sexual perversion, have sought to re-define men, women and the family. It is of pure arrogance because in anybody’s worldview, how can you improve upon perfection? God's design presented in His Word is perfect because He is the Perfect One! But these unjust gods would usurp the Almighty and create their own world (Psalm 82).
Let every professed Christian be reminded it is not the roles and responsibilities of men and women that are flawed as God designed, it is we ourselves as sinners. God has already given a helpful fix for our problem in the cross of His Son, Jesus Christ, and new birth through the Holy Spirit. Even in this we are not yet perfected on this side of Heaven. So, in great zeal to please God and do His will we intentionally labor daily in the strength He supplies to live out the roles He has assigned us. The outcome should be that every Christian man, woman and family renders a far superior portrait of God's perfect design than any of the world to His glory (Matthew 5:14-16)!2
In God's design a man is the lead provider in the family because he is so in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26a). God as the Head and Father of Adam initiated his existence and immediately provided for his needs (Genesis 2:7-10). He provided a comfortable environment and shelter, food, beauty, water as well as His up close and personal presence for relationship. Though everything grew of itself, God still made Adam Eden’s caretaker providing Him with responsible work (Genesis 2:15). After Adam fell in sin, God ordained that He should continue to work, but now, it would be harder as he would have to toil to make the earth yield its bounty (Genesis 3:17-19).
In the image and likeness of God a man as the head and father of his family works to provide for them. From Adam, men have worked to provide for their families whether it was building shelter, digging wells, farming, fishing, hunting etc. and then returned home to provide themselves. God also designed men to in general be bigger and stronger than women in order to help fulfill their historically demanding physical assignment as a provider. Indeed, the apostle Paul writes the command, "If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat," (2 Thessalonians 3:10, NKJV). Able-bodied men that sit at home idle while their wives work sin against the Lord despising His order and assignment.
The transition from an economy that was agrarian and agriculture based to one that is city, industrial and now technology driven over the past 200 hundred years has certainly been influential in giving men and women a greater diversity of work opportunities. However, God's design of their roles remains the same. Men have the lead responsibility to provide for their families. God will not be mocked nor will He allow His Word to be discarded without more than natural consequences to those who defiantly insist on destroying His design of male and female roles and their responsibilities.
Truly, the state of our economy and lack of work today is another of the many warning judgments from the Lord intended to be remedial and cause our nation to turn back to Him.3 All of our leaders in and outside of the churches need to consider the nation's greatness to this point was never a matter of so-called “exceptionalism” procured by our own wisdom and might. No, but as the song says, "God shed His grace on thee."4 Therefore, the word of the Lord to our nation is repent lest He pour out on the land the wrath that is deserved even before the time (Jeremiah 25:29-33; Luke 12:47-48)! The risen, living Christ continues His cry among American churches, "Who is on the Lord's side?"

2 Assembled together as God’s house in local churches (Hebrews 3:1-6), the portrait of His perfect design of the family is supposed to be affirmed, not obliterated as is
taking place in clear rebellion with the world against God among many churches. Don’t these folks understand the immutable God never has and never will reward un-
faithfulness considering it blasphemy or rebellion (Ezekiel 20:27; Hebrews 3:7-19)?
3 This was originally written during the economic downturn that had begun in 2008. All such downturns should serve not only as reminders of how precarious human
economies are at any given moment, but for us to also realize it is not a sound idea to purposely offend God upon whom upturns and sustained prosperity depend
(Psalm 107:33-38).
4 Words are from the patriotic song, America The Beautiful, written first as a poem by Katharine Lee Bates in 1895 according to Wikipedia.
It is staggering to me now, looking back, how it is many so close after the death of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. did not among the many moral issues related to Civil Rights galvanize against abortion as it made its way to the 1973 Supreme Court decision. Who could be more disenfranchised than an unborn child targeted for murder? Important figures in the Civil Rights Movement actually endorsed and advocated for abortion to make it as it is to this day for them a matter of women’s rights. Like ancient Israel forced to turn back from entering the Promised Land and wander in the wilderness because of unbelief, so, the Civil Rights Movement turned left away from biblical morality on abortion and other issues into the spiritual wilderness of sin seeking allies of mortal flesh rather than God (Numbers 14:11-25; Proverbs 14:34).
Even the most casual reading of the Bible will yield the straightforward understanding that human life is precious to God, humanity’s Creator (Genesis 4:8-15; Exodus 20:13; Mark 10:17-19). So, in this edited 2010 Commentary I have combined with a similar 2012 blog, I declare that men in the lead and women are to protect their children whose existence actually begins in the mind of God long before conception which He is also intimately involved with (Isaiah 45:1-7)! Therefore, in a biblical worldview, not only is abortion murder for the guilty parents, but also all who advocate for and perform it as accomplices. They will be held accountable by God in this life and on Judgment Day unless they embrace their only recourse I write about in this post.

Here in Portland, Oregon, Planned Parenthood the birth control and abortion provider is soon to finish construction on a new facility in an area that has been traditionally populated by black Americans. This is strategic on their part since black females have more abortions than any other racial group.1 Yet, the silence of most black clergy and open advocacy of others has been shocking. In the peaceful protests I have attended it has been primarily our white brethren that have represented the very clear scriptural mandate to revere human life (Genesis 9:5-7); life that begins at conception in the handiwork of God our Creator (Psalm 139:13-16; Zechariah 12:1).
Abortion as a concept at its root is not a black or white racial issue nor is it about women's rights. Men and women from all hues should be vitally concerned about what is very thoroughly a spiritual and moral matter. Men--especially those that aspire to be strong men of God in Christ's image--ought to be deeply affected by the slaughter of defenseless human lives. God has wired us with a heart like His and holds us responsible to defend the defenseless (Psalms 68:5-6, 82:1-4). But with steely precision abortionists around this nation routinely kill the unborn men have fathered for the sake of parental convenience. I know all about the convenience thing.
As a teenage father before I came to Christ, I either pushed for or passively offered no objection to the killing of my children on a number of occasions with different females.2 Years later I still wonder at times how I could have been so selfish and deceived. Then I remember the deceitful craftiness of the god of this world and my own fallen nature as a sinner and come to my senses. Spiritually speaking, we kill our unborn because we are dead in our sins to God and purposely deceived. It is not rocket science to understand the matter-of-fact reason we do so either: if there is no baby, then there is no responsibility or possible change in life plans.
Satan’s deceptive spin last century that morphed abortion from an issue of biblical morality into one that has to do with a woman’s rights over her body is of the success he enjoyed with Eve in Eden (Genesis 3:1-6a; 1 Timothy 2:14). And if they are not the instigators, just as Adam did not intervene while Satan deceived his wife and passively followed her lead in disobedience (Genesis 3:6b), so, many men today are doing the same thing in the decision to kill their unborn children. But now, made alive by God to God through faith in Christ, I have received forgiveness and instruction from His Word to fulfill all of my responsibilities as a father to my children (Ephesians 2:1-10).
In a truth I fully explain in my book, The Strong Man Of God: Back To Basics, none other than God the Father Himself has shown us men what a father is and does.3 Besides initiating Adam's existence, the Father also led, taught, provided for and protected him. In protecting Adam, God put him in the Garden of Eden as a shelter among other reasons and watched over him (Genesis 2:7-18). Even when Satan came to the garden please note he was not allowed to touch Adam or his wife, but only to deceive them if he could (Genesis 3:1-6). If it had been left up to the devil he would have killed the two humans where they stood (John 8:44). But God protected them!
God has given all men the responsibility to protect the lives we initiate through our seed released in the sexual intimacy of marriage or otherwise as well as those that are adopted. Our responsibility begins the moment of conception and continues until the new or adopted life attains the age of majority and departs from under our protective care (Matthew 1:18-25 2:13-15, 19-23; Luke 2:41-52). When men demand or passively allow the death of their children through abortion, it is a purposeful rejection of the responsibility that God has assigned to and holds us accountable for. We may only drop them off at the clinic, but we are just as guilty as the women for the murder that takes place.
So now, in these latter days Satan has gotten us to do legally what he was forbidden to do thousands of years ago in the garden: murder human life! For the record, only the bodies of the unborn are destroyed. God takes their spirits and souls back to Himself in Heaven to await the resurrection (Ecclesiastes 12:6-7). However, the parent's lives are eternally destroyed without repentance. Therefore, let every man and woman reading this who is guilty turn to God in all confession and repentance from your sins. By faith receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ believing that He died on the cross for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day. All who sincerely do this will receive God’s forgiveness, healing, instruction, a restored mind and heart with eternal life!
Unlike in our former godless and selfish mindset, God expects His sons and aspiring strong men in the image of Christ to welcome the pregnancy of our wives with joy and thanksgiving to Him! His sons are never to father children out of wedlock. However, if this should happen, in repentance He wills that you embrace your child and the mother in marriage if possible. In all instances, we are to fulfill our responsibilities to our children to include protecting them with the wisdom, help and strength God supplies. Also, brothers, stand up like men indwelt by the living God and speak out against the slaughter of the defenseless unborn in the protecting responsibility He has given us. The risen, living Christ continues His cry among American churches, "Who is on the Lord's side?"

2 That God may always be glorified in His amazing work to save and transform sinners through my life; I share my shame at having been an unsaved, unmarried and ire-
sponsible teenage father of two children that lived, but others that were murdered in their mother’s wombs. I am not just some moralizing preacher who knows nothing
at all about the real fear and selfishness that goes into the decision to abort or after birth, abandon a child God has charged men in the lead with the responsibility to pro-
tect.

This edited 2011 post continues challenging the disastrous rebel thinking and actions of Western nations falling away from the spiritual, moral and ethical tenets on family that once informed their societies during the Christian era now past. As a boat set adrift at sea after being released from its moorings, so, our nation with other sister Western nations that are forcefully untying themselves from their Christian mores (Psalm 2:1-3)! Besides the fearful natural consequences of hopelessly drifting, there is the never before seen magnitude global storm brewing on the horizon propelled by the living God who comes to judge the rebellion against Him (Jeremiah 25:30-33).1

This is where the silliness of moral relativity shows through in brilliant clarity. If there are no moral absolutes, then, who says men have to take responsibility for the children they father? There is no one without the other. Right doing follows righteous requirement and thinking.
Until now, men across cultures have been driven by the invisible compass of conscience (installed by God), societal norm and peer enforcement to do the right thing for their children. Also, God made His will and negative view of rebel Christian men known through His written Word distilled powerfully by the apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 5:8. For our nation’s legal and social authorities to attempt to shame and punish deadbeat dads into right action while also supporting moral relativity is absurd to the extreme. Males from childhood must intentionally be taught there is a moral imperative from a holy God at work in their conscience and supported by all levels of the social order that they only bring forth children within marriage and in that context take full responsibility for their care.
As a teenage father I knew sex outside of marriage was wrong, but willfully chose to pursue my desires without restraint and in a setting of diminishing societal opposition. When children were actually born (some were aborted), it was also initially easy to walk away. But after I met the Lord, He restored my conscience and His absolute righteous requirement that I take responsibility for those I had fathered and father any others only in the context of marriage. Our nation must return to God in Christ and the moral absolutes of the Bible if there is to be any hope of restoring fathers to their children as the prophet Elijah will do in Israel when he comes (Malachi 4:4-6). I have written more on a father’s responsibilities in my book, The Strong Man Of God: Back To Basics.3

In watching the destructive collapse of Western civilization under the weight of rebellion against God and His Word, one of the saddest spectacles is the marginalization of men and their absolutely essential role as fathers in the family. Yes, throughout the centuries many mothers have had to step up in the absence of their husband/fathers and done well under the adverse circumstances. However, in what is to be this short-lived day of the woman and overt rebellion against the God designed family of a man, his wife and children endorsed even by many compromising churches, men as fathers are being purposely devalued leading to the destruction of the family as we have known it for millennia. The Lord led me to blog about this and to encourage aspiring strong men of God fathers in 2013. I post it again now as the rebellion continues unabated.

As a critical partner with their wives in the preservation and expansion of mortal humanity (without conception and births, death would soon overtake and destroy mankind from the face of the earth), men as fathers are indispensable. But the indispensability of men as fathers goes well beyond biology to family and societal order, stability, direction and spiritual condition. In God the Father’s image, men are designed to lead their families as husbands and fathers. If they lead well, the family and families that make up a nation goes well.
However, if the men lead poorly, then the family and families that make up a nation suffers. The latter case is the present reality in our nation and many other Western nations that have independently decided fathers are only absolutely needed for the biological creation of children and are quite worthless otherwise. I offer a number of statistics in my book, The Strong Man Of God: Back To Basics that show how our nation is being devastated by a redefining of what a man, woman and family is contrary to what God in His Word declares they are. Social engineers and legal authorities know about this devastation but most insist on trying to fix the problems of re-definition within the context of the rebellion that is causing it!
In their redefinition of a man, for example, men are being demanded to financially support the children they create (those that are not destroyed through State sanctioned abortion, that is), but leave the rearing to the State and mothers--isn’t that taxation without representation all over again? The result is that irresponsibility by men is being encouraged by the State which has for the sake of an anti-Christian secular worldview, inserted itself into the fathering role and responsibility. Thus, our problem in America in major part is not that married men are leading poorly as much as it is absent and irresponsible men are not leading at all thanks to the State--though as the Lord has led, I teach all men lead by their example whether they intend to or not.
Also, in the moral and spiritual climate of rebellion against God, His Son, Jesus Christ and Word, many well off feminists do not even care for the financial support of baby’s daddy since they purchase his sperm from a bank in total detachment. So deep is the anti-male authority influence of feminists on our 21st century culture (including the biblical worldview that fathers are the head of their daughters until marriage), in its many acts of creative license with the birth narrative of Christ, the 2006 film, The Nativity, written by Mark Rich and directed by Catherine Hardwicke has teenage Mary initially angrily questioning her father’s will for her to marry Joseph. This feminist attitudinal insertion is completely opposite of the New Testament Mary who finds favor with God expressly for the humility and submission she no doubt displays prior to and after hearing God’s will from the angel (Luke 1:26-38)!
Tragically, relieved of their duty from nearly all quarters many men are living large in a sinful male’s utopian world of irresponsibility that is destroying children, the fatherless, families and our nation in the process. God in His Word teaches why the role of fathers is so important. As God the Father showed with Adam in the beginning, a father gives visionary leadership to his children (Genesis 1:26-28). Where there is no such vision in a family or a nation from the father or leader respectively, they throw off restraint, chaos ensues and they perish--think high rates of child sexual exploitation, teen promiscuity, sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy, drug and alcohol abuse, delinquency, school dropouts, gang violence and deaths, suicide etc. (Proverbs 29:18).
God as a Father to Adam not only initiated his existence, but led, taught, provided for and protected him in Eden (Genesis 2:7-25). While children with godly fathers in the home may still rebel because of sin, men are to do with their children as God did with Adam so they have a leader to look up to, instruction with discipline, certain provision and security. When Adam sinned, God the Father pitied him and did not treat his sin with the instant death it deserved, but killed an animal shedding its blood instead and used its skin to cover his fallen creature against the day in love when He would provide an eternal atonement (Genesis 3:17-19, 21, 5:1-5; Psalm 103:13-14; John 3:16). So, men are needed to be firm yet merciful and gracious authorities to their children.
To the child with a natural father (or mother) that has forsaken him, God offers Himself a Father (Psalm 27:10, 68:5). As His tangible love, Christian men are to be mentors and spiritual fathers to the fatherless who allow it. In the day of rebellion as we now have, God sends forth His prophet to call men and their children to reconciliation to avoid his curse on top of all of the destructive natural consequences already doing their work (Malachi 4:5-6). Are we listening in the churches since our assemblies are suffering all of the same devastation as the world due to straying from God’s Word and the priority of teaching men their roles and responsibilities?
To the faithful godly fathers doing it God’s way with a made up mind, stay the course. Do not yield to the fathering instructions and ways of this condemned world system taught even in compromising churches. God’s example and instruction in His Word as well as your very real daily experience with Him as your heavenly Father are perfect. If you remain faithful the Father of fathers will bless and mightily reward your faithfulness here and now and with immortal glory in the Day of Christ. Such is the joyful hope and expectation of every aspiring strong man of God father!
God’s promises to Jacob were unconditional, but his to Him made on the condition God would keep His.7 Such is the baby, but heartfelt faith of 77 year-old Jacob beginning his life journey with God as he traveled to the land and people of his mother he had undoubtedly learned most about from her. Though the Lord initiated the relationship with and conveyed the covenant promises of his fathers to Jacob, just as with baby Christian men aspiring to become strong in Christ’s image, God would begin working with him to dislodge his grip on sin and self-reliance in using deceit to gain his way in conjunction with molding his character through the crucible of painful life experiences.
Reaching near to his destination after about ten days or so, Jacob confirms his uncle, Laban, is still alive with men from the same area of Haran. The men point out Laban’s daughter, “Rachel,” was coming toward them at the well they stood next to (Genesis 29:1-6, NKJV). Beyond the joy a close relative approached, it must have been love at first sight for Jacob since he immediately tried to move the men along so he could talk to her alone, but they declined. Then, as any love struck male, he set about helping Rachel until he could contain himself no more and tearfully kissed and loudly told her who he was; she ran and told Laban who came to welcome his nephew (Genesis 29:7-14).
At the end of a month in which Jacob served in the family business voluntarily, his uncle asked him “what should your wages be,” (Genesis 29:15-17 NKJV). Without seeking God in prayer and moved by love for Rachel, Jacob blurted out, “I will serve you seven years for Rachel your younger daughter,” (Genesis 29:18-19, NKJV). Let every aspiring strong man of God in the image of Christ recognize Jacob’s error and first hard lesson about relationship with God: take everything to Him in prayer (Luke 6:12-16; Philippians 4:6; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Hebrews 5:5-7)! As it turns out, Jacob the deceiver was deceived by his uncle with painful and enduring consequences (Genesis 29:20-30).
Among the natural consequences of his failure to consult God about Laban’s offer was the reality he had two wives to be a husband to. Out of marital obligation he slept with the first one, Leah, who desperately wanted from him the kind of loving devotion he was giving her sister, Rachel. Also, while Leah bore him children, the love of his life he surely prayed for God to bless bore him none. Her unfruitfulness frustrated and created conflict between them (Genesis 29:31-30:2). The sinful competition between Jacob’s first two wives and their remedy for unfruitfulness (it was only a lull for Leah) added two more wives to him; no doubt causing him to pray regularly (Genesis 30:3-21)!
Jacob’s regular consultation with God becomes very evident at the end of the fourteen years he had spent working off the bride-price of his wives and finally, Rachel having her first child, Joseph. He was ready to leave and told Laban so (Genesis 30:22-26). His uncle, however, after acknowledging “the LORD has blessed me for your sake,” talked Jacob into staying or so it seemed. For his wages, the ability to “provide for” his “own house” and ultimately ‘“Return to the land of’” his ‘“fathers and…family’” as God commanded, Jacob presented a plan he later tells his wives came from Him (Genesis 30:27-31:16, NKJV). Jacob was now, fully trusting in, relying on and obeying God!8
Twenty years after his departure from Canaan, at God’s directive Jacob with all his family, servants and possessions pulled up stakes to return. He does so without telling Laban (who was warned by God “in a dream” about how he should “speak to” him) for fear of losing his family he tells him at his query after catching up to them (Genesis 31:17-31, NKJV). God at times directs His aspiring strong men to do things that in the natural produce fear. But just as He promised Jacob to be with and protect him in his journey, so, we are to trust God will do as promised us! Jacob in anger at Laban’s pursuit and (unknown to him) true accusation of theft of his idols by Rachel, rebukes him and testifies to God’s involvement in his life leading also to peace (Genesis 31:32-55).
Even after the good end with Laban and seeing angels along their travel route, great fear would again rise up in Jacob with severe distress at the prospect of seeing his twin brother, Esau, who despite the elapsed time, might still bear a murderous grudge. So, he took natural action (Genesis 32:1-8). Then, as he had learned, Jacob prayed with experiential knowledge of, humility before and faith in God seeking His deliverance from Esau while also afterward hoping to persuade him from doing harm with a gift (Genesis 32:9-21). As he waited for Esau, Christ pre-incarnate wrestled with him and changed his name to “Israel,” (Genesis 32:22-32, NKJV). Esau came and brothers tearfully reunited.9 As his God had promised, Israel was back in the land (Genesis 33).
7 See the end of the June 4, 2023 post, Jacob, God Named Israel, Pt. 1, under the category, The Cause.
8 Jacob’s remarkable spiritual maturation shows the consistent end of God’s training program for His sons throughout the Bible since aspiring strong men of God in the image of and as Christ have the four distinctive characteristics of accepting the roles God assigns, obedience, reliance on and trusting Him for vindication (note God says to Jacob in Genesis 31:12, ‘“I have seen all that Laban is doing to you,’” NKJV). Also, let every man reading this see how Jacob assertively embraced his God assigned responsibility to provide for his “own house” and through his own enterprise; not being content to live off of his father-in-law (Genesis 30:30-31, NKJV). This is not to say every man is to have his own business, but to be willing to labor by whatever honest means to provide for his own without mooching off of others in- cluding the government (2 Thessalonians 3:6-15).
9 Scripture does not tell us whether Jacob ever went to Seir to visit with Esau. It does inform us that the brothers came together again to bury their father, Isaac (Gene- sis 35:27-29). The genealogy of Esau as Abraham and Isaac’s descendant, the reason he and Jacob did not reside together in Canaan and his ruling descendants of the land they dwelt in called after him, Edom, are also given (Genesis 36:1-19, 40-43). While Esau may have personally reconciled with his brother as a good thing, his descendants did not follow suit and are under the prophecies and curse of God that He began to speak when he was still in the womb with his brother (Genesis 25:22-23, 27:36-40; Exodus 17:8-16; Numbers 20:14-21, 24:15-20; Isaiah 34:5-17; Ezekiel 25:12-14, 35; Obadiah; Malachi 1:3b-5). Esau’s lasting legacy as a wild man is that of a sober warning not to imitate his godless way and experience its end (Hebrews 12:12-17)!
When I hear otherwise solid Bible teachers make an extra special effort to forcefully and corruptly insert women into Scripture passages clearly directed to men, I know the demonic deceit of feminism in these latter days is at work. Nowhere in the Bible does God make any apology for directing His Word to men as a first audience nor will the Son of God do so upon His glorious return! This is because God is purposeful in addressing Himself to His chosen leaders from among the progeny of the first man and federal head of his kind, Adam (Genesis 1:26-28, 2:7-25, 4:1-2, 5:1-4).
As the Lord leads, I write to follow-up the July 21, 2019 post, Worship In God’s House under the category, Call To Repent. My aim is to attempt to help those that will be helped to grasp something of the magnitude of the blasphemy and sin professed Christians and their churches that are guilty are engaged in by brazenly refusing to honor the roles, rank and responsibilities God has assigned men and women in the human family and His house. Repentance is God’s only accepted way out of the severe judgment His holiness demands for this egregious iniquity of His people acting in concert with the world led by Satan in rebellion to profane Him (Ezekiel 22:23-31; Hebrews 10:26-31)!
Roles, rank and corresponding responsibilities are of eternal origin and fully bound up in organization and its related order. Every kind of organization of God and His creation feature roles, rank and corresponding responsibilities within a set order. When the heavens and the earth were created, for example, in relation to and for the benefit of a formless earth beneath waters and in darkness, the triune God set about the business of bringing order to the creation on the very first day by speaking physical light into existence (Genesis 1:1-5). The sun (with other stars) as a “greater” and the moon as a “lesser light” in rank were made on the fourth day (Genesis 1:14-19, NKJV).
As revealed in the Bible’s book of Genesis and science is beginning to understand, the physical creation is an organizational whole with a set order. Though incredulous science naysayers are unwilling to go as far as God’s Word does in making the earth the central object of the vast physical creation, it is so with purpose! As seen in the organizational whole of physical creation, there are assigned roles, rank and responsibilities within a divine designed order among inanimate matter and elements as well as all living things including God’s highest creature, man, whom He created on the earth and holds accountable to govern it (Psalm 8)!
Roles, rank and responsibilities for the proper functioning and order of an organization originate with God not only as something He designed for His creation, but as that which is the natural operation of the divine Family. Indeed, before there was ever any created thing, God--Father, Son and Holy Spirit--as I wrote in my book, The Strong Man Of God: Back To Basics1 and a previous post.2 Though equally God, the Father ranks highest in the divine triunity as the Son of God asserted in His submission and declared as a matter of fact during His mortal sojourn on the earth, while the Holy Spirit waits to do the Father and Son’s will (John 1:1-18, 5:16-23, 14:28, 15:26-27, 16:5-15).
The greater the rank, the greater the responsibility! In the divine Family, the Father is over and responsible for all (Ephesians 3:14-19, 4:4-6; James 1:16-18). The angelic creatures God created are organized in rank and order to serve the divine Kingdom (Isaiah 6:1-4, 37:15-16; Daniel 10:13). Fallen angel, Lucifer, patterned his rebel kingdom of darkness after God’s with himself as the “father” head followed by “principalities,” “powers,” “rulers of the darkness” and “spiritual hosts of wickedness” in rank and order (Isaiah 14:12-15; John 8:44; Ephesians 6:12, NKJV). Mankind too, was purposely organized by God with roles, rank and responsibilities within a set order beginning in the family.3
Man the male is God’s appointed head as seen in him being created first followed by his female companion and helper wife that was taken out of him for him (1 Corinthians 11:8-9; 1 Timothy 2:13). When Adam’s wife usurped him and led them into sin, God voiced His perfect will in correction of her and all her daughters to follow for all time in this present age: ‘“And he shall rule over you,’” (Genesis 3:16c, NKJV). This commanded role of men by God is seen to be honored by women with few exceptions throughout the Old Testament across many cultures and is affirmed in the first century New Testament churches filled with Gentiles by Paul, the Jewish apostle to the Gentiles personally ordained by Jesus Christ (Acts 26:12-18; 1 Corinthians 14:33-40; 1 Timothy 2:11-15).4
Paul plainly lays out Heaven’s order of rank: God the Father, Christ, man, woman (1 Corinthians 11:3). Lost today due to the rebellion of feminism and apostasy (but no less required by God)5 is how the apostle lays out the visible respect of rank men are to give Christ our Head and women their husbands as their immediate heads in fulfilling all of the roles and responsibilities of God’s set order of the family that carries over into His house (1 Corinthians 11:4-16; Ephesians 5:22-6:4; Titus 2:1-8). The apostle Peter confirms Paul’s instruction (1 Peter 3:1-7).6 Therefore, professed Christians in rebellion with the world against God’s will ought to repent now! The risen, living Christ continues His cry among American churches, "Who is on the Lord's side?"

3 Roles, rank and responsibilities in a set order exist in every kind of organization of mankind beyond the family to include governments, militaries and corporations. Only
the most extremely deluded of rebels resist the reality of this truth!
4 The usually cynically and wickedly asked question invariable arises here: “So, what can women do in the church” as if being seen taking authority over and leading men
is the only worthwhile way to serve God in His house. Neither men nor women should be seeking to do anything in God’s house to be seen which is of the flesh. But
God has intentionally organized and ordered His house to operate through the agency of the Holy Spirit who equips each member with spiritual gifts to serve the divine
will. And while there are gifts, callings and ministries that are more visible than others, every gifted person has their important part in the Body of Christ as the apostle
Paul also taught (1 Corinthians 12:1-26). Thus, there is no Heaven ordained reason, for example, to purposely put women up to say anything during a full assembly of
the church just so they are included. Men do this for whatever reasons out of the sinful flesh and demonic deceit of religion (Mark 7:5-13). Also, the Holy Spirit is not
confused. He does not gift and call women to disobediently rule over men in God’s house. See the May 20, 2018 post, The Value Of Women To Jesus Christ, under
the category, God’s Creatures.
5 Just because His people refuse to obey His will and God chooses not to severely jump on the disobedience with judgment right away, does not invalidate His will as king
Josiah realized when the lost “Book of the Law” was brought and read to him (2 Kings 22:8-13, NKJV).
6 In my book, I reference the excellent book by P.B. Wilson, Liberated Through Submission, (Eugene: Harvest House, 1990), where she comes to be amazed at just how
much responsibility men have under Christ in their family roles as husbands and fathers. As a result, she urges her Christian sisters to embrace voluntary submission
to their husbands as God’s will rather than in line with the demonically inspired rebellion of feminism, seeking to usurp them in disobedience. Being the head is not just a
title of authority, but a major responsibility God has given men He holds accountable to carry out in His image and likeness. Again, the greater the rank, the greater the
responsibility! For those that wickedly assert God’s will in this is taking people and churches backwards, shame on you! Our blessings come from God through obedi-
ence, not rebellion (Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 5:8-9)!
The historic value of men as intentionally designed by God to the world is such that on the authority of His Word I have declared it along with guilty professed Christians and churches following suit as foolish for marginalizing them! Truly, nowhere is this foolishness more plainly seen than in the sinful re-defining of men in their roles and responsibilities as husbands and fathers in the divinely ordained, foundational family unit. In marginalizing and re-defining men as I write in my book, The Strong Man Of God: Back To Basics, the world is sowing the seeds of its own destruction as in the mix of negative consequences, families--the basic building blocks of societies--are being devastated.1
The value of men to families in their God designed temporary (due to death) roles and responsibilities as husbands and fathers in this present age are absolutely critical to their creation, effective functioning and wellbeing. The first man had God bring him the first woman and his wife (Genesis 2:18-23). After this, in God’s perfect will a man has typically taken the initiative to leave out from his parent’s household to find a wife, unite to her in marriage and create a new household (Genesis 2:24). Men alone have been equipped by God in their bodies with the seed necessary to initiate new human life and follow the first man in doing so with his wife (Genesis 4:1-2, 25-5:5).
By God’s express design, order and purposes of mankind men are His elect heads of their families. This is shown by Adam being created first, the command God gave Eve after she sinned in usurping her husband’s headship and His rebuke of Adam for following his wife’s lead while judging him (Genesis 2:7, 3:1-6, 16-17; 1 Timothy 2:12-14). The authority and responsibilities of headship in the family have been exercised with only occasional historic challenge until these latter days of all out rebellion against it (Esther 1; Psalm 2:1-3)! Even many Christians seek to dilute the headship God has given men not believing abusers will give an account to Christ, their Head (1 Corinthians 11:3).
In God’s design of the human family reflecting His own, the effective functioning of it requires the leadership and management of a chief authority. In the God Family where all three Persons that have eternally made it up are equally God, nevertheless, the Chief Authority is the Father (Luke 3:21-22; John 3:35, 10:30-33, 14:7-28). So, in the human family while each person of the unit is equal in person, the husband and father has been assigned chief ruling authority as the head by God! And though the family rule of men corrupted by sin has been less than perfect, nowhere in Scripture does God diminish or revoke their chief authority assignment.
Indeed, the divine expectation of the family rule and stewardship of men is maintained by speaking of them first in the fifth of the Ten Commandments and addressing them as the first audience throughout the pages of Scripture (Exodus 20:12; Acts 1:15-16; 1 Corinthians 10:1)! The chief ruling experience of men in their families has also been transferrable and beneficial to human social units beyond it to include the Lord’s Church on earth (Exodus 18:13-27; Acts 15:1-22). Besides ruling authority, God expects men to give visionary leadership to their families ideally listening to Him for the best outcomes (Genesis 11:27-12:9; Matthew 1:18-25).
God has assigned men three other equally important roles and responsibilities He holds them accountable for. Men have the lead role and responsibility for teaching their families by precept and example (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Ephesians 6:4). So influential is a man as the lead teacher, his family is instructed even by his failure to teach because they watch him! Men are most known historically for and relied on as material providers for their families as another important role and responsibility (1 Timothy 5:8). Finally, men are also assigned by God to protect their families from spiritual and physical harm though they are most known for their physical protection (Proverbs 6:20-35; Matthew 2:1-18). The value of men to families in God’s design, order and purposes for mankind is truly great!
However, rejecting God’s design, order and purposes of mankind by marginalizing and re-defining men to fit a rebellious, feminist worldview is not fixing anything, but confusing everything! For example, many sinful men now passively, routinely and irresponsibly allow their wives to be the chief authority, visionary leader, teacher, provider and protector in the family if there is marriage at all. Divorce is common because unless the man does submit to his wife, there is no chief authority, harmony or coherent family vision as each selfishly does as they please. Fatherlessness is rampant as irresponsible men create children, but have no widely accepted moral imperative to father them except by the payment of child support. Anarchy is already underway; social collapse follows!
