As Open Door Communication Ministries, Inc. enters into our 34th year and organizational unit, Strong Man Ministries its 14th, my plate is very full with much to do. While it has been so personally enriching and I pray helpful to you for me as the Lord has led to spend a great amount of time writing longer posts, I must throttle back to make room for other responsibilities and activities that are making important demands on my time. Therefore, as of this edited post and until you see otherwise, I will be re-posting shorter, but I believe still very thoroughly thought provoking posts beginning with this one I made as a brand new blogger in another forum back in 2011 when I still had hope our nation might turn back to God.1

After becoming a Christian, I learned the “invisible hand” of American capitalism could only be God because only His wisdom and power could pull off the theory’s promised benefits. He is the One that gives man the ability to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:11-20) and blesses the nation that trusts in Him (Psalm 33:10-22). It is time for our nation to turn back to God as I call for in my book so He can restore our economy among other things.2
1 The Lord revealed to me the nation had reached the “point of no return” to Him in 2012 and that I should all the more focus on preaching the Gospel and witnessing
Christ so, many of my fellow citizens might be saved as the natural consequences of a “house divided” and His righteous judgment unfold (Matthew 12:25, NKJV).
Read the first mention of a “point of no return” in the July 15, 2015 part one 2012 repost, Powerlessness Of Being The Minority, under the category, Encouragement.
A second mention follows in the October 22, 2017 part two 2013 repost, Mocking The Rainbow, under the category, Biblical Worldview.

Professing Christians that scoff at the fact fallen angels watch, stalk and hunt men to destroy their lives now and souls in Hell with them after God’s judgment (Matthew 25:41, 46; Revelation 20:10-15), also obviously reject that these same invisible, spirit creatures war against the followers of Christ (Ephesians 6:12). How tragic and unfortunate for these scoffers that they show themselves to be captives and enemy agents of the same creatures arguing against God’s Word plainly written by their unbelief to include those that attempt to cloak themselves behind academia and the high sounding words of theological study (2 Timothy 2:23-26).
Now that I have laid out all of my missteps and taken full responsibility for the bad business decision I made last year, I write about one more aspect of it that is just as relevant and a deadly serious alert sounded to all aspiring strong men of God in the image of Jesus Christ. I am deeply grateful to the men I have regularly met with over the past two years for prayer and Bible study at the church I attend that prayed with and comforted me in my consequences. Tim Staples and Jerry Schoon in particular recognized the involvement of the predator of men’s souls and encouraged as well as interceded for me accordingly. I was responsible for my sin, but as they correctly discerned, I had also been snared.
The Scourge of Racism is purposely a short and to the point book since it was the extension of a shorter newsletter article.1 However, I have kept the content short even in its update at the leading of the Holy Spirit because He has patterned it after “the little book” in Revelation 10 (NKJV). Time is also short and professed Christians do not need a lengthy treatise on what we already know to be the history and reality of the sin of racism in the Church. We need what God has provided through me in this little book: a direct, truthful and prophetic confrontation with the problem of racism in the Church and what He wills to resolve it complete with a warning of the consequences for refusing to obey!
The seventy-eight page little book the Lord led me to write, of course, does not compare in scale of magnitude weight to the prophetic content of the “little book open” in the hand of a “mighty angel” that appears to the apostle John. So weighty is the book’s content, the angel cries out as “a lion roars” and in response “seven thunders uttered their voices.” John understood them, but Heaven forbid him to write down what they said (Revelation 10:1-4, NKJV). After hearing the angel solemnly swear by God the Creator “that there should be delay no longer” in bringing about His foretold future, John is instructed to take “the little book” from the hand of the angel (Revelation 10:5-9, NKJV).2
Obeying the voice that spoke to him from Heaven, the apostle of Christ “took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it.” In similitude to the prophet Ezekiel’s experience, John too, found the Word given “was as sweet as honey in” his “mouth.” Unlike Ezekiel, however, John’s stomach became “bitter” or upset from the Word following the sweetness it had in his mouth as the voice from Heaven had warned him. Then, he was told, ‘“You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings,’” just as Ezekiel was sent with His message to Israel (Ezekiel 2:6-3:4; Revelation 10:10-11, NKJV). Revelation 11:1-22:5 is the prophetic content of the little book John ate.
While far less weighty in scale than the content of the little book given to the apostle John, the little book I was led by the Holy Spirit to write to the Church of Jesus Christ in America is no less important since it is His message. Indeed, the words on the front cover of my little book from the Lord, “Perhaps A Terminal Appeal To The Church” are there to convey the seriousness and urgency of its instruction and exhortations in these latter days when prophetically significant events are suddenly and rapidly occurring such as what happened in Israel October 7th.3 Hear me or not, as a called and gifted watchman/prophet to the Church, I serve at the Lord’s pleasure (Ezekiel 33:1-9)!
Truly, professed Christian white, then black leaders and adult men of other hues who call themselves conservative evangelicals within His Church are the first audience for the little book the Lord gave me because they are supposedly “people of The Book.” For most of the last four centuries conservative white evangelicals--devoted to evangelism, the largest in number and loudest on select moral issues, have been a dominant force in the American Church. Even so, the sin of racism has not been a pressing moral issue for them and has been left largely in place with only some occasional impotent lip service addressing it in recent times because it is so widely tolerated and practiced.4
That a sin so wretchedly obvious as racism could be openly advocated in history and in many cases clung to by guilty men professing such devotion to Christ, demonstrates how with “craftiness” and ease the deceiver does his work in willing selfish hearts.5 For just as Satan drew Eve away from God’s commandment through the lusts of her heart and mind, so, he has done among men that regularly spoke (and speak) otherwise sound words, but their minds on racism were (are) “corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ,” (Genesis 3:1-6; 2 Corinthians 11:2-4, NKJV). That simplicity being the truth in the Gospel, fidelity to Him and “the whole counsel of God,” (Acts 20:17-27, NKJV).
Because racism is sin and not just a moral or social justice issue men can get to when they please or deem it important, the Lord with longsuffering over the centuries has been seeking for those tolerating and practicing it in His Church to repent!6 Repentance from the sin of racism is not negotiable as no sin is that Christ died for on the cross at Calvary (1 Corinthians 15:3). In the little book He gave me to eat, I write with the sweetness of joy in the righteousness and truth of God’s Word concerning the sin of racism as well as the hopeful outcomes if conservative white evangelicals in the majority pay heed. There is also the sadness of knowing it will have finally taken the Lord’s severe judgment to move these men to do right in His sight--if at all--as the curtain falls on this age.

In the latter post, I quote leading white conservative evangelical, Dr. R. Albert Mohler, Jr., from his book, The Gathering Storm, Secularism, Culture And The Church, Copyright 2020, Nelson Books, Nashville, and do so again here regarding his observation about many contemporary churches (and by default, their leaders): “These churches have sacrificed biblical fidelity on the altar of cultural relevance; they are willing to discard biblical Christianity in order to be ‘on the right side of history,’” p. 192. This is exactly what conservative white evangelicals have also been doing with the sin of racism until now!
5 For this cause, the Bible holds up how Christ, the Strong Man of God, got the victory over Satan and Christian men that aspire to be strong men of God in His image, can get it too! I eagerly write about Him in my book, The Strong Man Of God: Back To Basics. It is available in the Hard or Soft Cover or E-Book Editions in the Strong Man Store, all major internet booksellers and brick and mortar bookstores.
6 One reason proud professed Christian white men resist thoroughly repenting from the sin of racism before the Lord is they believe they are doing blacks and other minori- ties a favor we do not deserve at their expense. However, the favor being done in repentance is by the Lord as He extends undeserved forgiveness of sin to the guilty! I urge you, sir, to watch our ongoing Strong Man Of God Online Rally, Return To The Lord, on YouTube to be reminded how sweet it is to be forgiven by God.
Generally speaking, from creation men have been physically stronger than women. Though in these latter days, there are a small number of women that grotesquely buff up through weight training and are stronger than the average man, God designed men to be naturally bigger and stronger than women as part of His will for their roles and responsibilities of headship to include providing for and protecting them. The value of brute strength with fighting skill is seen in men such as Samson, a judge and David, a king of ancient Israel both enabled by God. David also had his mighty men of war, strong and capable like so many of history (Judges 13-16; 2 Samuel 22:29-51, 23:8-39).
However, the physical strength and abilities of men that even many churches seem to only value for “honey do” projects and security around their facilities are not the extent of which we were designed. Man was also designed in the divine image and likeness to display the exclusive, exceedingly superior spiritual strength of God! Man does not naturally possess God’s strength, but God can and has supplied it to select men in history by the Holy Spirit! David was one and before him as I write in my book, The Strong Man Of God: Back To Basics, Joshua, who God after Moses commands: ‘“Be strong and of good courage for...I will be with you,’” (Deuteronomy 31:7, 23, NKJV).1
The attempt by Roman Procurator, Pilate, to appease the angry Jewish mob in first century Jerusalem, Israel led to his now famous exclamation to end matters, “Behold, the Man,” referring to Jesus of Nazareth! Jesus stood by him and before the crowd of Roman soldiers and Jews with their religious leaders bloody from being beaten up, scourged and mocked as “King of the Jews” with a crown of thorns forced down on His head and in a purple robe. But because of what had brought about this extraordinary moment, the crowd was not having any of Pilate’s concessionary punishment. The leaders especially wanted nothing short of Jesus’ death (John 19:1-6, NKJV)!
The death of Jesus is what the Jewish religious establishment and their leaders had been longing for and plotting a long time (John 5:15-18, 7:1, 25-32, 45-49, 10:30-33, 11:45-53). Scripture tells us these men that supposedly knew and honored God resented, envied and hated Jesus because He spoke the truth exposing their hypocritical religiosity with authority outside of their own (Matthew 15:1-20, 21:23-27, 23:1-33, 27:15-18; John 15:22-25).2 For this reason the Lord Jesus portrays all such religious men not as relationally part of Him or acting on His behalf, but the world system governed by Satan (John 14:30, 15:18-21, 16:1-4). The religious are of the world!
Jesus, on the other hand, had most excellently displayed the perfect blend of a man’s physical and God’s spiritual strength in pressing Heaven’s Kingdom cause in His ministry. He had stood toe to toe with Satan in the wilderness temptation, summoned select men to Himself from under his dominion for training to do as He and liberated His people from his works prevailing in every instance (Matthew 4; Luke 10:1-20)! Jesus also withstood the desires for Him of His family and disciples (Matthew 12:46-50, 16:13-23). As well, He physically took on the Temple merchandisers and overcame the efforts of religious leaders to undermine and discredit Him (Mark 11:15-19).
After displaying the awesome supernatural power of God to easily have overcome His mortal arresters without laying a hand on them (John 18:1-11), the Lord Jesus then began to show those that tried Him the amazing inner strength of Person He possessed (Luke 22:63-23:22; John 19:7-15). As I also write in my book, in all that the Jewish religious leaders, Herod, Pilate and their troops did to Jesus that morning, He did not break under the pressure or threaten to retaliate--He took it! He remained strong in spirit as they crucified and taunted Him on the cross. After six hours of suffering and not crying out in protest, He died on His own terms (John 19:16-30). Truly, in Jesus we have the ultimate display and fullness of strength in man designed by God--the Strong Man of God forever!
The final proof of this is His eternal resurrection from the heretofore, impossible grip of death three days later!3 And because Jesus lives, now, we who have repented and believed the Gospel about Him--that He died for our sins, was buried and rose again to redeem us to God--have through forgiveness been granted to have the strength of God on display in us too (Isaiah 53; Luke 24:44-49; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Colossians 1:9-14)! Indeed, of first order men are taught and commanded like Joshua to “Be strong in the Lord” for daily living (2 Corinthians 12:7-10; Ephesians 6:10; Philippians 4:13, NKJV).4 But due to satanic strongholds of deceit, many churches reject the Bible’s strong man of God teaching. The risen, living Christ continues His cry among American churches, "Who is on the Lord's side?"
(I will be taking Resurrection Sunday my spiritual birthday off to celebrate. Lord willing, my next post will be on April 8th. May the strength of Christ be yours this Palm Sunday and forever!)

2 Also deceived by and captive to the spirit of religion, professed Christian men in their churches throughout history to this hour have for the same reasons and in like man-
ner sought to harm God’s faithful. Truly, nearing my forty-first year as a Christian I have had to contend with such men far too often; men who while outwardly acting
pious saying and doing religious stuff, inwardly are driven by the sinful flesh and spiritually dead having no genuine relationship with God or they willfully quench the Spirit
disconnecting from Him to carry out their evil deeds. Either way, God knows their hearts and without repentance, will judge them accordingly for their wickedness (Psalm
58:9-11; Romans 2:4-11; 2 Timothy 4:14).

As the blog title declares, this is the repost of what I wrote a year after this past week’s August 30th repost, “When Strong Men Of God Weep.” For the record, four years later my personal pain from going through the shutdown of a church as judgment from God has healed. However, having had the experience of seeing “affliction by the rod of His wrath” up close (Lamentations 3:1, NKJV), I am all the more urgent to sound the alarm and the Lord’s call to repentance in the churches even as we labor to restore men! For during this same period I have been among many churches of varying size and ethnicity and have seen nothing to convince me I am telling a lie on God about His judgment.
Therefore, I pray that every church pastor and elder reading this will take it to heart. I also salute you this Labor Day among all of those that work if you are ruling well (which includes maintaining the biblically ordained order of God’s house) and laboring in the Word with all sound doctrine as God purely from His Word sees it, not sinful men in fleshy wisdom (1 Timothy 5:17; 2 Timothy 1:13-14). In so laboring, no matter how small the assembly you serve, you are a success in God’s eyes! Be faithful to the end knowing your eternal legacy is the souls in glory because you kept the Kingdom cause before you; letting God use you as the Word exemplified (1 Peter 5:2-3).

The Lord enabled me to faithfully serve the church for nearly fifteen years. I have not pursued any other church nor has any sought my service during this time which is all in God’s will for me. I miss serving the Lord’s sheep and preaching regularly but have enjoyed the lighter load of responsibility. As the Lord has led, I have purposely not written anything about the death of the church since last year’s blog on July 10, 2011 entitled, When Strong Men Of God Weep (under the category, Glory To God!) in any other forum until now.
I am sure the Lord has been keeping me from expressing any of the wide range of thoughts and emotions I have had over the past year until He in love could minister more of His instruction and healing into my life. In honor of His amazing work in me, I write in this blog only to offer what I hope will be insightful reflections on my experience in being part of a church that died. Let me begin by stating that I stand by everything I wrote in last July’s blog on the matter. Second, the death of anything we love hurts. So, there is no pretense here; a great part of the past year I have been experiencing all of the emotions of bereavement. Third, since I took responsibility for the church dying, Satan has made sure I have had plenty of accusations and questions.
The main question I have grappled with is what could I have done differently without compromising God’s will, way and Word? Experts abound to show pastors how to grow churches in today’s world, but with a prophet’s heart I rejected 99% of that stuff. I was also warned by “successful” pastors that preaching and witnessing the Gospel of Jesus Christ alone were not enough to build a New Testament church anymore. My position remains that building a church any other way is not pleasing to God and reflects a desire to fulfill a flesh rather than Kingdom agenda (Mark 16:14-20). Indeed, not growing by the preaching of the Gospel is an indictment of American Christianity since growth by conversions is only 2.2%. 3,500-4,000 churches in America close each year never to re-open.1 80% of American churches are stagnant or declining and ready to die.2
While decline and death may be the trend, I still needed to understand more fully why the church I served as pastor had to die. Only God could and did answer that question for me in a satisfactory way. In His comforting, assuring and encouraging instruction the Lord taught me that this was not all about me though it all is working together for my good (Romans 8:28; Hebrews 12:3-11). Churches are dying in a natural cycle of birth, life and death over the course of time to be sure. However, many historically and at this hour have died as a matter of God’s judgment after He called for repentance and revival as well as sent warnings through His prophets to no avail (2 Chronicles 36:15-21; Lamentations 1-2; Revelation 2:1-5). This is the case with the church I shepherded until its death after a legacy of manmade religion and toleration of sin (Numbers 32:20-23).
This all leads to a final reflection and warning for all similar minded churches of manmade religion and sin. Unless you repent, your day to die at the hands of the Lord as judgment is also near. Some of you are already in the throes of death but are in denial. For the rest, rather than proudly judging how I may have failed to succeed as a pastor and rendering me useless, fear and see the death of the church I served as a clear sign and warning from God (Jeremiah 3:6-10; Luke 13:6-9; Revelation 3:1-3)!
To the faithful pastors who have been wickedly terminated or had your church doors close: be encouraged because our God is faithful to remember your service (Lamentations 3:1-26; Hebrews 6:10). To the righteous remnant of believers who are also aspiring strong men and great women of God in the image of Christ: stand firm in faith on God’s word no matter what it costs you now since great is your reward (Psalm 58:3-11; 2 Thessalonians 2:13-17; Revelation 3:4-6)!

“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love,” (1 Corinthians 16:13-14, NKJV). The foregoing verses are among the final exhortations to the church at Corinth by the apostle Paul in a deeply sobering letter filled with instruction and correction. I pray these verses will find their mark in the heart of every professing Christian American that reads this blog and is searching for how to handle the morality shift of our nation that is retracting the welcome mat Christianity once had in a God pleasing way. To be sure, Paul’s exhortation does not sit well with our reflexive American cultural mind set to go on the offensive for our rights.
However, he is exhorting us to watch for something far superior to America in her best days; we are to watch for the glorious Second Coming and Kingdom of our Lord as He also taught (Matthew 24:42-44)! We are not to back up on Him in the face of opposition, but literally stand still in the faith--biblical Christianity as it is written! We are to be courageous and strong in the Lord while the opposition presses in on us laboring as aspiring strong men and great women of God in Christ’s image (Ephesians 6:10-20)! Finally, we are to do all of what we do in love--the love supernaturally supplied to us by the Holy Spirit--for fellow believers and those who hate us (Romans 5:5).
Presently, many professing Christians are not giving heed to the apostle Paul’s exhortation and have instead, chosen the American way of fighting--which in the right situation legally is not wrong. But what the Lord led me to write in 2013 about a business situation close to home here in Portland with many similar instances around the nation, I remain steadfast in conviction is not the right one to fight since discrimination violates God’s commandment to us and man’s law. Christians are not to show partiality or if you will, discriminate against someone’s person in making judgments (Deuteronomy 1:16-18; 1 Timothy 5:19-21). The subjects of the 2013 blog have since been penalized by the governing authorities for discrimination and others face similar consequences.
In this edited repost of that blog, I use the hurtful experiences I and most of those of my race with other racial minorities have had in being discriminated against in America as a backdrop to try in love to help my mostly white, conservative evangelical Christian brethren get this right going forward. Based on the Anglo-centric mail that I have received from some organizations, though, I see not only that this original word from the Lord through me as an ignorant black man was ignored, but it appears something sadly predictable as another part of the American way is occurring: discriminated against racial minority Christians are intended to be left to themselves.1 Seriously, racism to the end? Where’s the love? Even so, my God will thwart this evil too and prove His Word right (Acts 27:9-21).

They have taken this position out of the biblical conviction that such marriages are wrong which of course, I also share. However, I do not believe they or any other Christian owner of a business open to the public has the right to refuse service to those whose lifestyle they morally disagree.
It would be one thing if this were a church or para-church organization and an immoral person came in demanding that these entities violate the tenets of their faith to allow the individual to become a member, be hired or receive services formally declared to be for Christians only. However, this situation is about Christians that own a business offering services to the general public without any stated restrictions (until now). By their own admission the bakery owners have gay customers and have served them previously.
As a black American, the whole situation is a painful reminder of the evil system of discrimination in this nation that legally permitted businesses to refuse service to blacks based simply on the color of our skin. If service was offered, blacks were humiliated in having to go to the back or side doors to receive it. Many of the white business owners then were good church members and believed they stood on Christian values in their discriminatory conduct as taught and reinforced by their leadership.
In shame, even many nominal white Christians today in honesty would have to admit this kind of targeted discrimination was morally wrong and unbiblical. Yet, many have stood to support the cause of this couple’s right to unlawfully discriminate (with thanks to God and the perseverance of those in the Civil Rights Movement, discrimination in public commerce and accommodations is illegal now) against two gay customers just because they want to marry each other which all Christians with a biblical worldview agree is wrong.
In line with the thinking of the late Chuck Colson and others concerned that we Christians hold to our biblical worldview in every corner of our nation’s secular culture, we are to engage unbelievers and rebels against the divine order in a winsome way. If Christians are going to open businesses serving everyone in the general public, they can be winsome about it for example, by using tactful signage that affirms in a positive way their standing as Christians with a biblical worldview. Their lifestyle, demeanor and conversation should also reflect the joy of relationship with Christ.
Any customers that come in know that this business owner is devoted to Christ and the Word of God and most will respect that. The few who do not respect this and want the Christian business owner to provide their product or service to them should be served in the love and humility of Christ who taught us to love our enemies and healed the cut off ear of one of the men sent to arrest Him (Matthew 5:43-48; Luke 22:49-51). The message on a receipt for a product or service rendered can share the Gospel or for instance, read: “Served with love from the God who loves and forgives sinners!”
As I wrote back on December 16, 2012 in the Powerlessness Of Being The Minority, Pt.1, Christians are fast becoming a despised minority in America. Christian businesses which are important and strategic outposts for the Gospel do not need to incite our future persecutors by unnecessarily breaking the law through discriminating against them at this stage of things. In short, while I commend their willingness to take a stand, this is not a Rosa Parks moment for the owners of Sweet Cakes By Melissa, other Christian business owners or Christians at large. If a Christian that owns a business open to the public cannot in good conscience serve same sex couples, close it down. Similarly, if thinking of opening a business with the same conviction, do not open it!
Truly, already Christians are being discriminated against and our values rejected by our once welcoming society (Matthew 5:11-12; Luke 6:22-23). We are not to return evil for evil (Luke 6:31; Romans 12:17-21). The foretold severe persecution just for being willing to confess Christ draws near. As aspiring strong men and great women of God we will have plenty of opportunities to take a stand for Christ and I hope many will in all faithfulness and obedience (Revelation 13, 14:9-13).
1 Examine the art work, photos and primary victims displayed in a sampling of white, conservative evangelical Christian publications addressing the impact cultural change is
having on largely white evangelicals. While most assuredly I appreciate what their proclaimed intentions are, in the 21st century, to call “an oversight” the failure to in- clude the continuing fight against discrimination by all racial minorities, but especially their brothers in Christ as a related and worthy cause is beyond incredible. Of course, being the president of a small non-profit, I do also see the fundraising dollars and cents of this “oversight.” Nevertheless, I hope our Christian readers from all
backgrounds will consider donating to our Ministry because of the fair, balanced and truthful way in the Lord I deal with everybody’s stuff including my own!
