Project Summary

The Books To USA Prisons Project will send two copies of The Strong Man Of God: Back To Basics to over 800 Federal and State prison libraries to reach men with the Gospel and teach biblical manhood.

Project Description

The Books To USA Prisons Project is intended to make sure incarcerated men are not left out of God's strategic call for men to be saved, restored and become strong men of God in the image of His Son, Jesus Christ explained in The Strong Man Of God: Back To Basics! There are more than 2.4 million men and women incarcerated in the United States. As a result, our nation has the largest prison population and highest incarceration rate in the world! Approximately ninety percent of those incarcerated are males. Black Americans make up close to one million of those incarcerated and black men nearly six times the number that are white. This Ministry is burdened by the Lord to reach these men with the Gospel and His Word on biblical manhood.

After having already sent two donated copies of The Strong Man Of God: Back To Basics to all of the prisons in Oregon and Washington, our plan is to do the same for over 800 select State and Federal prisons in the remaining forty-eight American States. Funds raised for the Books To USA Prisons Project will be used to purchase the book at cost, obtain book mailers, produce letters to communicate with the chaplains of each facility about the project and coming books, pay all postage and related expenses. Our Ministry will follow-up every inmate that contacts us as a result of reading the book through correspondence; offering encouragement, biblical answers to questions and information about services that address specific needs presented.

Project Outcomes

The opportunity to reach men with The Strong Man Of God: Back To Basics is great since one of the outlets most prisons provide is a library. Seeking men can find the knowledge of salvation and biblical manhood in the book. It presents the simple Gospel and invites men to accept it to begin the journey of becoming a strong man of God in the image of Jesus Christ! It also provides basic spiritual and manhood instruction that positively impacts men in life changing ways as it has done the men quoted below at the time that they wrote to us from Northwest prisons who have since been released.

Books To USA Prisons Project Concludes

The Books To USA Prisons Project formally launched four years ago on July 17, 2018 ended this past July 22nd with books being mailed to prisons in New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts and Mississippi (a requesting repeat recipient). In all, a final revised tally of 660 books was mailed out to 308 Federal and State prisons in 49 states. Only five Rhode Island prisons were not interested or in the case of one, had suspended all Christian services. The Ministry thanks the Lord who inspired the project, its Board of Directors for approving it, all contributors, Mrs. Mary Kelley for her labor compiling a 620 prisons contact list and every Chaplain that accepted books. Ministry directors will decide the disposition of the project fund balance in their fall 2022 Annual Meeting. Please pray for the men who have or will read the book.

The Books To USA Prisons Project is an outgrowth of our Strong Man Ministries’ long-term mission to proclaim the Gospel as commanded by the Lord and help willing men become strong men of God in the image of Jesus Christ. To that end among the incarcerated, we have been conducting an evangelistic event we call the Strong Man Of God Rally and teaching through our Strong Man Institute in Northwest prisons. Hundreds have come or rededicated to Christ and a number baptized.
